According to L’Équipe, Marseille are likely to activate the clause in Abou Diaby’s contract which triggers another year’s stay at OM for the former Arsenal man.

Diaby’s time at Marseille has so far been plagued with injury, and he has only featured in less than a handful of competitive games.

But he wants to be at OM next season and is earning so little anyway that the Marseille board is not against the idea.

Therefore, unless Marseille’s new manager decides that they do not want Diaby at the club, the former French international will be in Ligue 1 for another season in the South of France.
