The 28-year-old believes he will be at Spurs for the remainder of the season and has praised manager Mauricio Pochettino for showing faith in him
Tottenham full-back Danny Rose says he still expects to be at the club when the European transfer window shuts on August 31.
Rose has been linked with a transfer to Paris Saint-Germain, having found game time tough to come by of late under Mauricio Pochettino.
However, he turned in a strong display against Manchester United as Spurs beat the Red Devils 3-0 on Monday, inflicting Jose Mourinho’s heaviest home defeat as a manager in the process.
Now he is simply concentrating on more regular pitch time in the Premier League.
“If I’m here past Friday, which I’m expecting to be, which will be great, I’m looking forward to seeing what we can achieve at the end of the season,” he said.
“The manager has spoken to us all a couple of weeks ago and said everybody starts from zero.
“We all have to start again trying to impress him and that’s great. We all go again. I’m good. I’m not listening to the speculation about my future.”
The England international says that he feels the trip to Old Trafford was a “turning point” for him at Spurs.
“Me and the manager have had a conversation over the phone, as well as two one-hour meetings over the last couple of weeks,” he said.
“We’re both aware of the situation. Monday was massive for me that, even though there is speculation, he still trusts and believes in me to put me into such a massive game, a game where he didn’t need to change anything.
“For me, over the last four or five years we’ve worked together, that is probably the biggest thing he has done for me.
“I was so shocked in the meeting before we arrived. I thought there was going to be a change, but never did I think that it was going to be me coming in.”
The 28-year-old has been at Tottenham since moving from Leeds United’s youth team a decade ago. He has turned out 162 times for the club, and has had loan stints at Watford, Peterborough, Bristol City and Sunderland.
