Another Gator, Guns, Drugs Seized From Chicago Apartment

CHICAGO — Weeks after the Humboldt Park gator Chance the Snapper captured Chicagoans’ hearts — before being captured himself and relocated to Florida — police seized another small alligator from a northwest side apartment. Officers executing a search warrant in the 4000 block of North Troy on Monday night found a three-foot alligator, along with multiple guns and narcotics.

Police, who found the reptile at around 9:38 p.m., have not made any arrests in the case, which remains under investigation.

The northwest side gator was turned over to Chicago Animal Care and Control, which is getting used to caring for large reptiles. The agency took in Chance the Snapper for a few days before he was taken to his new home in Florida.
