Update: Emma announced that she is scheduled for surgery on Wednesday to repair her damaged back. There is currently no timetable for recovery until after surgery is performed.

I'm pretty gutted about my injury, and of course, the timing! But all the love and support going into surgery Wednesday helps. Thanks! #RAW

WWE announced Monday that Emma suffered a back injury at last Sunday’s (May 8) WWE house show in New Mexico and was “undergoing tests to determine the extent of her injuries.”

WWE followed up by noting that Emma will require back surgery to repair a ruptured disc.

“She came to us in a great deal of pain, which seemed to be increasing,” said WWE physician Chris Robinson. “She was then given an M.R.I., which revealed that further action would need to be taken.”

There is currently no timetable for her return to action. “Emma’s estimated recovery time cannot be determined until after her procedure is complete,” Dr. Robinson added.

WWE brought in Dana Brooke from NXT to be Emma’s bodyguard/stand-in as part of a new feud with Becky Lynch. On this past weekend’s house show tour, the heel trio in six-woman tag matches was Dana, Lana, and Eva Marie, replacing Emma.
