The National Wrestling Alliance has announced that the 2020 Crockett Cup pay-per-view will be held on Sunday, April 19th at the brand new Gateway Arena in Atlanta.
The building is a short half-hour drive from GPB Studios where the weekly NWA Powerrr television episodes are taped, but is set up for much larger crowds between 3,500 and 5,000. As the venue just recently opened in November, this will be the first time pro-wrestling is held there.
The Crockett Cup was revived in 2019 as an 8-team tournament to crown a new set of rebooted NWA World Tag Team Champions. Several teams under contract with the NWA participated, in addition to representatives from ROH, NJPW and CMLL. The Cup, and the titles were won by Villain Enterprises’ PCO and Brody King.
The NWA will not be the only game running that night. Impact Wrestling’s Rebellion pay-per-view will also be taking place on April 19th at Terminal 5 in New York.
