Nick Aldis recently confronted Marty Scurll about The Villain’s participation in the upcoming G1 Supercard on April 6.
Scurll decided to cash in his Survival of the Fittest tournament win for a shot at the Ring of Honor World Championship. That match will be competed against the champ Jay Lethal and another challenger, Matt Taven, at the G1.
But Marty was already booked to face Aldis for the NWA World Championship on April 27 at the Crockett Cup. Aldis wanted to know what Scurll was thinking and the leader of Villain Enterprises was only too happy to explain himself.
“I challenged you for that NWA World Championship knowing that going into the match with you, I will be Ring of Honor World champion. Think about it, Nick. This was all we could’ve asked for! We dreamt of a moment like this, Nick. Champion versus champion. You could have two belts on your shoulders. Double champion. I was trying to help you out, Nick.”
But then Scurll decided to dig a little deeper and build some heat for his match with Aldis.
“I think the real reason you’re so upset is because deep down, you know that I can beat you. That belt that you wear so proudly is gonna slip out of your fingers and it’s gonna go on my waist and I will be double world champion.”
It’s indeed a very intriguing situation developing here. If Scurll does win on April 6 and again on April 27, he will indeed take two world championships home. While AEW is making serious waves in the pro wrestling business, a double world title win would definitely shift some of the focus back to the established companies that are already going strong.
