EVOLUTIONARY FILMS GREENLIGHTS VENGEANCE 2 WITH VINNIE JONES JOINING CAST

Following the global success of their multiple award winning action film Vengeance, London based production, sales and distribution company Evolutionary Films is delighted to announce that Vinnie Jones (Escape Plan, X-Men: The Last Stand, Snatch) has boarded Vengeance 2, as lead villain Sean Teague, a former elite special-forces operator turned rogue mercenary.

The film stars Stu Bennett, FKA WWE Superstar Wade Barrett (Fanged Up, Eliminators, Dead Man Down and as TV Host: Netflix’s Ultimate Beastmaster), who reprises his lead role as John Gold in this direct sequel to Vengeance, which was released theatrically on August 24th in North America (as ‘I Am Vengeance’) through Saban Films and Lionsgate, and will be released in the UK on 28th September through Evolutionary Films. The same creative heads return for Vengeance 2 – Ross Boyask is writing and directing, and Diane Shorthouse and John Adams are producing. Stu Bennett serves as Executive Producer. The film is set to shoot from 25th September in Suffolk, UK.

Diane Shorthouse, said, “Vinnie Jones is a true action movie legend and we’re delighted to welcome him aboard Vengeance 2.  We have a great script and are excited to emulate our multi-award winning Vengeance which is already being recognised as a genre classic”.

Vengeance 2 follows the continuing exploits of former special-forces soldier John Gold (Bennett), who is given the opportunity to bring Sean Teague (Jones) – the man who betrayed his team on their final mission in Eastern Europe several years ago – to justice. Gold would cheerfully see Teague dead, but he is convinced to help transport him to a military prison to pay for his crimes. Along the way, Gold will have to fight off Teague’s team who are attempting to extract him, as well as a sniper seemingly hell-bent on killing Teague before he can be secured.

On the festival circuit Vengeance has had a successful run picking up, amongst numerous other awards and nominations, Best Feature at the Austin Action Fest 2018 as well as Best Action Feature at the 2017 Urban Action Showcase in New York where Stu Bennett also won the Best Actor award. It is also in Official Selection at Action On Film 2018 and the Fighting Spirit Film Festival 2018 where it will have its UK premiere. Internationally the film continues to sell well for Evolutionary and has secured sales in in Japan (Open Sesame) where it was released in cinemas in March 2017, Middle East (Phoenicia Pictures), China (Lemon Tree), New Zealand (Sky), Hungary (Romis Film), Korea (With Lion Pictures), Spain (Media Solutions) and on Pay TV across Pan Asia with Fox Networks.
