With just months to go for the general election, the Narendra Modi government, in a surprise move has approved a 10 per cent reservation for economically weaker upper castes.

According to reports, the Cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi approved the decision on Monday. There are also reports that the government will introduce the same as a constitutional amendment bill in the Parliament on Tuesday.
