According to our colleagues at L’Équipe, Championship side Brighton have made contact for Toulouse’s versatile midfielder, defender and wide-man Jean-Daniel Akpa Akpro.

Contacts have been initiated by the English second division outfit in recent days and could be set to imminently make a transfer offer to Toulouse for the Ivorian.

Jean-Daniel Akpa Akpro, whose contract with TFC expires in 2017, has spent most of the summer looking for a new club, but only ending up with propositions from Turkey.

Nottingham Forest are also understood to have made enquiries. The player is interested in listening to Brighton’s proposition should they make one.
