Kindness knows no religion. Helping out a fellow human during times of crisis is the best gesture that all of us would be grateful to experience. Chef Vikas Khanna expressed this same kind of gratitude towards a Muslim family who took care of him and saved him during Mumbai riots in 1992.

In order to honour them, Chef Vikas Khanna has been fasting for a day during the holy month of Ramadan since 1992. Now, 26 years later, the New York-based celebrity chef says he’s happy to have finally found the family he lost touch with.
