The Corsican authorities have launched an investigation into alleged racist abuse that OGC Nice striker Mario Balotelli suffered last Friday during a Ligue 1 match against SC Bastia, according to RMC.

The local authorities have demanded footage from the major networks covering the game so that they can investigate and if necessary prosecute the offenders.

SC Bastia released a statement today condemning once again the racism that Balotelli was subjected to and announced that they had identified the individual who most clearly could be seen directing monkey chanting towards the Italian striker, and they have decided to ban him from the Furiani until further notice.
