— Former WWE and ROH wrestler and current Impact champion Austin Aries shockingly returned to ROH last night at the promotion’s 16th Anniversary PPV show, appearing at the entranceway, cutting a promo and teasing a match.
— Aries was not announced as being an Impact champion/talent but did have a number of belts with him, including the Impact title and he ended up challenging ROH TV champion, Kenny King to a match that never officially took place.
— Aries who was most recently seen with Impact Wrestling and before that WWE in 2016-2017, last wrestled for ROH in 2015. His appearance last night led to rumors that Impact and ROH are working together, but that is definitely not the case as ROH announcers failed to make any references to Impact. According to reports, while Aries is the Impact champion, he actually is not under contract and is free to sign or appear anywhere. That does raise the question if Impact Wrestling even knew he was going to be showing up for ROH tonight and chances are, they probably had no idea.
