It doesn’t appear that Brock Lesnar will be returning to the Octagon anytime soon.
UFC President Dana White told ESPN’s Ariel Helwani on Tuesday that the former UFC Heavyweight Champion and mega-WWE Superstar has informed the promotion that he is retired from the sport.
“He told me he’s done,” White said of his recent discussion with “The Beast Incarnate.”
White added, “He’s retired.”
As far as reigning UFC Heavyweight Champion Daniel Cormier, the man that Lesnar returned to the Octagon in a suit to build up a potential showdown against, it looks like he will be getting a different opponent for his next title defense.
“We’re going to move in another direction with Cormier,” said White regarding the UFC’s plans for D.C. now that Lesnar is out of the picture.
The most likely candidate to fight Cormier in his next UFC Heavyweight Championship defense is former title-holder and the man who holds the record for the most UFC Heavyweight title defenses in company history, the man that D.C. defeated to become champion — Stipe Miocic.
