“I’ve Got Nothing Left For That Place” – Kenny Omega Says Wrestle Kingdom Appearance is “Not Looking Too Bright”

The entire cast and crew of Being The Elite held a Q&A panel to kick off Starrcast III this Thursday night in Chicago.

During the show, Kenny Omega was asked about the likelihood of him making an appearance at Wrestle Kingdom 14, the signature event of New Japan Pro-Wrestling set to take place over the course of two days at the Tokyo Dome, on January 4 & 5.

While many had originally hoped Omega signing with All Elite Wrestling as one of their Executive Vice Presidents would lead to some kind of partnership with NJPW, things are “not looking too bright”, according to the former IWGP Heavyweight Champion, at least so far as he is concerned.

“You know how I am,” Omega joked with the fans at Thursday’s live panel. “I’m just sitting there at home, sitting at my office desk, and I’m just looking at the phone on a daily basis. It’s not ringing, and I’m losing a lot of sleep over this one. To be honest, it’s not looking too bright.”

The “Best Bout Machine” does have a clause in his contract with AEW, reportedly, that allows him to take outside bookings with New Japan. We’ve seen the likes of Chris Jericho and Jon Moxley make that jump, with the later recently participating in the G1 Climax tournament.

“Maybe I’ll be there, maybe I won’t,” said Omega, getting a bit more serious. “Probably not.”

“They’ve got their guys, and I’ve wrestled most of them. Probably all of them. They were all great experiences, and great matches. I feel like, aside from one big match… I’ve got nothing left for them. Nothing left for that place.”
