No one throws a party like Kate Hudson!
The actress celebrated her 40th birthday in style on Friday night, hosting family and famous friends at her home for a night full of fun, food and even a nod to 4/20.
The festivities had a star-studded guest list that included Leonardo DiCaprio, Johnny Knoxville, Reese Witherspoon, Sara Foster, Erin Foster, Katy Perry, Orlando Bloom and more.
Guests took part in a pizza-making class, before munching on cannabis-infused goodies from Kiva Confections.
Hudson’s mom Goldie Hawn (who attended with longtime love Kurt Russell) seemed to enjoy the large pink birthday cake, as she was seen licking the frosting off of her fingers as seen in an Instagram post from Derek Blasberg.
“After vacillating whether or not to do a birthday party for — hmm — about six months, yesterday morning @katehudson finally relented and let her friends take over her house, install a pizza oven and tequila bar, and celebrate her big 4-0,” Blasberg, 36, wrote.
“It was spontaneous and bohemian and fun and fabulous, just like the birthday girl. And everyone had a finger-licking good time, just like her mom,” he continued.
Stylist Jamie Mizrahi shared a sweet selfie of some of the guests, including Hudson’s brother Oliver, Hawn and Foster. “HAPPY 4-0 KH we ️ u,” she wrote.
The birthday girl also shared a social media video of three champagne glasses toasting, writing, “Full moon rising, Good Friday, Passover, my birthday…do you know what that means? Neither do I but it sounds groovy #KivaConfections.”
Earlier in the day, Hudson celebrated by sharing the first photo of all of her children together.
“My wishes came true,” Hudson wrote. “Thank you for all the love today #ThisIs40.”
In the adorable photo, Hudson can be seen with her 6-month-old daughter Rani Rose lying on her chest as her sons Ryder Robinson, 15, and Bingham Hawn Bellamy, 7, cuddled up next to her.
Hudson and her boyfriend Danny Fujikawa welcomed little Rani in October.
Hudson’s close friend Gwyneth Paltrow also showered the actress with love with a surprise party earlier in the day.
The Goop founder, 46, surprised Hudson with an early morning yoga session and a party at Alfred Coffee in Brentwood.
“Birthday yoga and a surprise for my little sister @katehudson,” Paltrow wrote on Instagram alongside a shot of the two smiling wide in workout clothes next to purple balloons.
“You radiate happiness and make everything fun. We all love you so much,” Paltrow wrote, adding the hashtag #lordylordylookwhos40.
Hudson previously opened up about plans for her big day during her interview on GMA earlier this month, saying that she was hoping for a “blowout.”
“I personally, with having a baby, feel like I deserve a really good hangover,” she joked. “I’ve been so good, I’ve been so busy. I’ve been breastfeeding like crazy and I just want some martinis. I want to sleep in. [That’d be] really nice.”
Hudson added, “I’m like a last minute kind of Aries girl… it’ll happen. At this point, I just want to tell everybody, ‘Hey, I’m gonna have a party,’ and then everybody shows up.”
