Pete Davidson is trying to spruce up his “man cave” — starting with finding a new name for it.
“So I was calling it the ‘man cave,’ but the Mulaneys [John and Annamarie] told me that if I call it that, they will no longer be my friend,” Davidson explained. “So now I call it the Basement, like the Ohio State University.”
He added, “It’s the ‘the’ that’s important.”
The 25-year-old comedian appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon in New York on Thursday night, opening up about living with his mom. He told Fallon that he and his mom actually bought their home together, laughing while explaining that he took the “basement” apartment where he is now installing an arcade.
One of the games Davidson plans to include in his new arcade: Mortal Kombat 11.
“Well, they are paying me to be here to talk about it,” he admitted, chuckling. “I’m trying to get a helicopter to Coachella.”
He went the full nine yards, sporting a Mortal Kombat t-shirt and sneakers on the show as well. But Davidson said he really does enjoy playing the video game — and has some favorite characters.
“There’s this guy that I really like to kill in it because he looks like a real doucheb–,” Davidson told Fallon. “This guy Johnny Cage, so he does splits and punches you in the d—, it’s his special move. And he just looks like everybody I grew up with in Staten Island, so I just kill that dude.”
That’s not the only reason he likes to go after Johnny Cage. Davidson, who is dating actress Kate Beckinsale, 45, joked that he can get a bit “lonely.”

“Also he has like a hot daughter, which is like weird because I’m lonely and she’s like not real. So there’s that in the video game as well, sexual confusion,” he laughed.
Davidson also talked to Fallon about celebrating Kid Cudi’s birthday with Kim Kardashian and Kanye West, as well as Timonthée Chalamet — and paying for the whole celebration.
“I’m like texting my touring agent, ‘Yo you gotta book more shows,’ ” he recalled. ” ‘S— getting real over here.’ “
