After being on the losing end of a number one contender’s triple threat match, Randy Orton and Braun Strowman are set to face off in singles action.
Orton vs. Strowman has been announced for Monday’s episode of Raw. It will be the first time they’ve ever faced each other in a one-on-one match.
In the main event of this week’s Raw, Drew McIntyre defeated Orton and Strowman in a triple threat match to become the number one contender to Bobby Lashley’s WWE Championship. Lashley will defend his WWE Championship against McIntyre at WrestleMania Backlash on Sunday, May 16.

Orton hit an RKO on Strowman near the end of the number one contender’s match and went for the pin, but McIntyre flew in with a Claymore on Orton. McIntyre then pinned Orton to get the win. After the match, Lashley’s associate MVP came out to the stage. While McIntyre’s attention was turned to him, former RETRIBUTION members T-Bar and Mace ambushed McIntyre and laid him out with a double chokeslam.
Orton and Strowman both got wins at WrestleMania 37. Orton defeated “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt on night two of WrestleMania, while Strowman defeated Shane McMahon in a steel cage match on night one.
