Rematch Between Will Ospreay and Zack Sabre Jr. Announced For RevPro High Stakes Event

RevPro has announced that British Heavyweight champion Zack Sabre Jr. will be putting his title on the line against the Aerial Assassin Will Ospreay at the February 14th High Stakes event from York Hall. This will be a rematch from NJPW’s New Beginning show from a few days ago, where ZSJ caused Ospreay to pass out via submission.

NJPW issued the following press release on the rematch:

On February 14, Will Ospreay will once again challenge British Heavyweight Champion Zack Sabre Junior in a massive main event at RevPro’s High Stakes card in York Hall, the British promotion has officially announced.

ZSJ and Ospreay met in Sapporo at New Beginning on February 2. In an incredible match that was the highlight of the evening for many in attendance, Ospreay’s heavy strikes saw the momentum swung heavily in his favour, but ZSJ was able to navigate into a ground cobra with a blood choke that saw his challenger pass out. When referee Red Shoes Unno did not receive a verbal response from Ospreay in the hold, he called for the bell.

The next night, Ospreay was bound and determined to prove the win for ZSJ was a momentary slip. In an elimination tag team match between CHAOS and Suzuki-Gun, it seemed as if Ospreay could have thrown the champion to the floor, and won the match under the over the top rope rule. Ospreay instead pitched ZSJ back into the ring, and landed a Shooting Star Press and then Strombreaker to get a decisive and crucial pinfall victory on the champion.

Wasting no time, Ospreay issued a challenge for a rematch in York Hall at RevPro’s February 14 High Stakes event, a match that the promotion has now made official.
