As noted, Shawn Michaels made waves this week when he admitted during an interview with Sky Sports that he would “take a look” at the idea of wrestling one more match in his career.

HBK’s statement prompted shows like Busted Open Radio to speculate on who Michaels could possibly face if he did return to the ring, with Bully Ray offering Tommaso Ciampa as an ideal opponent.

During this week’s WWE Emmy event in Los Angeles, Shawn Michaels appeared on the red carpet, and somewhat clarified his ring return statement, noting that while he thinks he could have one more match, he is currently more excited about watching the current crop of WWE talent take the company into the future.

WWE Reportedly Planning Big Smackdown Event Next Year

According to PWInsider.com, WWE has plans to do some kind of a big Smackdown 20th anniversary show next year, when the blue brand officially turns 20. It’s unknown when the show will air, but given Smackdown debut in April 1999, it would stand to reason the show would air in April 2019.
