The Lawcast – WWE Survivor Series 1996 Was The Night That Sid Ruled The World

Welcome, boys and girls, to another episode of the Lawcast! After a long month spent away on the campaign trail, we are back on track and ready to go with a show that is every bit as bizarre as any we have covered so far.

On a night that sees the WWE debut of Rocky Maivia, Flash Funk, and future megastars Doug Furnas and Phil Lafon, it is truly Sid who owns the spotlight here, on a night where he and a rabid Madison Square Garden crowd make for one of the greatest entrances and atmospheres in wrestling history to this point. We’ll gush all about it, but we’ll also talk about the amazing and terrible (but mostly amazing) commentary, how the future might have been different if Bret Hart had rejected the 10 year mega offer, and try to unpack the fact that Steve says out loud, “Glenn Jacobs looks better than Kevin Nash.”

Quick Lawcast update: Everything past our last 20 episodes will be on our Youtube channel. Subscribe to iTunes for the new ones, subscribe to Youtube for the old ones. We’ve got you covered both ways.
