Title change at Impact Wrestling TV tapings in Mexico City

A title change took place at Impact Wrestling’s television tapings in Mexico City on Saturday night.

Jordynne Grace defeated Taya Valkyrie at the tapings to win Impact’s Knockouts Championship. This is the first time that Grace has held the title.

Valkyrie was the longest reigning Knockouts Champion in Impact history. After winning the championship from Tessa Blanchard at Impact’s Homecoming pay-per-view last January, she held the title for over a year.

Before being made a triple threat as part of a storyline where ODB was added, Valkyrie vs. Grace was originally announced as the Knockouts title match for this month’s Hard to Kill PPV. Grace had that match won after hitting the Grace Driver on ODB, but John E. Bravo distracted the referee. As Grace turned her attention to Bravo, Valkyrie stole the pin while Bravo prevented Grace from breaking it up.

Impact was at Fronton Mexico on both Friday and Saturday for their post-Hard to Kill tapings.
