WWE has announced the dates for 2019’s Superstar Shake-Up. The event will take place over a two day period, from April 15 to April 16. Montreal, Canada will be the backdrop for this shake-up and it should be a very interesting one indeed.
Much of the reason for that has to do with SmackDown Live‘s move to FOX in the fall of this year. While it’s unknown what WWE’s plans are for the blue brand’s debut, it’s safe to assume that some heavy hitters will join the program before the move happens.
But who could be part of the deal? Many fans assume that current Raw Women’s champion Ronda Rousey will headline SmackDown‘s move to FOX, mostly because of her crossover appeal in mainstream pop culture. Her background in MMA is also surely a drawing point as well. FOX reportedly wants SD Live to feel more like a legitimate sports program and Rousey could be a big part of that. Many insiders believe that she will be taking a break after WrestleMania 35 but things could change of course as the shake-up approaches.
FOX may also want Brock Lesnar. The Beast Incarnate is the Universal champion right now of course but anything can happen on the way to April 15. The event is taking place just eight days after WrestleMania, which means all of the major storylines should be finished up. Considering WWE would have a clean slate, there’s every reason to believe that both rosters could be turned upside down.
